Academic Prep Classes Our small group prep classes keep your students’ minds active as we engage them in fun, challenging math, language, and writing activities. Classes are grouped by grade level and held for 90 minutes twice a week. Choose either 5 or 8 weeks.

Pre Algebra For students who will enter 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall, this class is the perfect way to keep math skills fresh. Class is held for 90 minutes once a week. The curriculum covers foundational concepts used in middle school pre-algebra. Choose 5 or 8 weeks. Critical Reading and Writing Critical reading and writing are the keys to better memory and learning in ALL subjects. This course is designed for students entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade and the fall. Curriculum covers analytical reading skills, grammar and conventions for more polished writing, understanding the writing process, how to use the six traits to craft better pieces of writing, and using writing to build better thinking skills. Students will be asked to keep a daily journal and respond to directed prompts in order to encourage higher order thinking between classes. Choose 5 or 8 weeks.
Junior High School Prep & Testing Strategies* This course eases middle school students back into the mind-set of school as they review a variety of core skills, learn how to get and stay organized for a successful start to the new year, and build knowledge and testing skills they need in order to score well on National Standardized tests such as the IOWA and the ACT. The course begins the final week of our summer session and continues once a month throughout the school year
*Strategies class will run through the school year and will meet the second Monday of each month from 4:30-5:30 (September 12 thru May 14). Price includes EXPLORE test and materials fee. Classes for Credit Students may take the following course in a small group setting to earn high school credit over the summer. This is a great option for students who want to get ahead and possibly graduate early, or for those looking to create extra space in their schedules during the school year. Students earn credit through an independent study program that is accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission.
